Movie Review – Juno (2007)

Looks like coming-of-age movies will never end to fascinate me ! After some pure cinematic gems like Udaan,Almost famous and Dazed and Confused , saw an another sweet little movie from the same category called Juno ! This Jason Reitman ‘s movie is almost  as good as his own brilliant “up in the air.”

Juno is about a 16 year (played by Ellen Page) who faces a unplanned pregnancy and her ways to deal with it.Screenwriter Diablo Cody put wit, anger, depth and pain into his script. And it’s also wonderfully written…i mean how can some one come up with a line like  “Good mood, bad mood, ugly, pretty, handsome, what have you… the right person will still think the sun shines out your ass. That’s the kind of person that’s worth sticking with.” ?

Reitman put so much charm into his cinema. He not only extracts neat and balanced performance from his cast but also maintains the pace of the movie from start to end.Michael Cera was good. Allison Janney who plays Juno’s step mom was amazing ! mainly in the scene where juno goes for a ultrasound check. After all, this movie purely belong to Ellen Page. thanks for that performanc which was filled with finesse.

All in all, Juno is one clever movie that brings some smiles from deep out of you. Don’t give it a miss !

MY rating – 4/5
